Delhi Fire Service continues to maintain Training Centre located at FSMA, Rohini. This Training Centre is not only catering to the needs of the Service but is also offering facilities to the neighbouring States and to para-military forces. Short duration courses on fire prevention and fire protection are also being run for different institutional agencies like hotels, Govt. Institutes and the staff working in auditorium etc.
The Training Centre is headed by a Dy. Chief Fire Officer who is ably assisted by a Divisional Officer and Assistant Divisional Officer and number of other officers of the service. For demonstration and the ground activities, different ranks of the staff of Delhi Fire Service continue to perform their duties for giving practical training and demonstrations.
A separate model room having cut section of various equipments is being maintained the Training Centre. It has also the facility of smoke chamber where the working of sprinkler system is shown and a tunnel for Breathing Apparatus Training.
The report in respect of Training Centre will be incomplete without a mention of the magnificent Band Contingent comprising of 26 personnel headed by a Station Officer This contingent has earned a good name for Service, not only public sector but in Municipal Corporation of Delhi also. Apart from this, the contingent performs all the duties at Training Centre which includes operational duties at fire and rescue scenes.
